About the Author

Marcus Lee Stephenson, is an author, poet, motivational speaker, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and graduate of Texas A&M University.  As the owner of a 27-year-old IT Firm, Marcus manages 85 employees, servicing over 60 different small businesses to Fortune 500 firms but never left his creative passion as a writer and artist.

Before building his company, Marcus spent 8 years in the entertainment industry as an actor appearing in several commercials and feature films such as The Great Debaters, Year One, and Soulman. He culminated his career as a playwright, writing, directing, producing, and touring his plays throughout the South. Over the past 27 years in the technology industry, he never stopped pursuing his creative passion as a writer and artist.

As a proud father of 5, his relationship has survived the vicissitudes of parenting, evolving to one that embodies open communication, and lots of quality time.

Over the years Marcus has learned that fatherhood is not easy but it is a worthwhile endeavor, requiring sacrifice, empathy, and above all, listening.

Celebrating the release of his first autobiography, Being Dad After Divorce, Marcus’ endeavors for readers to learn how to cope with the dynamics of being a divorced dad, emphasizing the importance of honesty, self-sacrifice, and above all, unconditional commitment and love.

About the Coauthor

Linda King is Professor of Biblical Counseling at a theological seminary. She is responsible for establishing the Biblical Counseling Department and lectures students and leaders on a global platform. She is Professor of Psychology at a Dallas area college and has served as a counselor in a faith-based mental health treatment center.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice/Forensic Psychology from Purdue University and graduated with honors (Summa Cum Laude), a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Christian Counseling.

Linda is an active member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), Texas Community College Teacher’s Association (TCCTA) and is a certified Prepare Enrich facilitator. She resides with her husband of 40 years, and has 2 daughters, 2 granddaughters and 2 “granddogs.” To date, she has coauthored six books and is currently working on a topical series relating to Women of the Bible. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and participating in a myriad of other leisurely activities.
